A special mention to the year one children in the class of Team EO who have started working on agility, space and movements in their PE lessons. The children have showed excellent listening skills and a real desire to pick up and learn new skills.
We have tried to go out onto the courts as much as possible. It has been really great to see the children working well in a team. We always love seeing the smiles on faces especially when participating in any sporting activity. Amazing, keep it up!

All classes in year one to six have been given a new sporting topic to focus on for each half term. All of the children are working extremely hard in their lessons.
We have a wide range of sports going off at Park Street, whether it is indoor or outdoor the children are giving one hundred percent and are focused in every lesson. Keep it up Park Street and enjoy your new sporting topic! We are delighted with how well Feel Good Friday has fitted in at our school. Children and staff are able to wear sports uniform every other Friday for the full day. Each class throughout the day participate in either the daily mile or a fifteen minute activity in class.
We are seeing children in all classes easily completing the mile. We estimate it is around six laps of the school field. Everyone in school has really got on board with the idea, lets keep it going Park Street. The mile is supporting everyone's physical and mental health. Many thanks to our amazing staff who have been joining in and completing the daily mile as well. Outstanding work ethic from everyone, well done! Mr Smith, Miss Garratt, Mrs Petitt Many thanks to all of the pupils and staff who wore sportswear for the full day on Thursday. The day was a great success, with Year 4 upwards participating in the daily mile trial, whilst further down school pupils had a go at a PE activity in class. All children who participated in school completed at least 12 laps of both courts.
This means that all of the children completed a mile either walking, jogging or running! This is a great achievement. A special mention as well, to the children who did something at home linked into the daily mile. We will be looking of ways we can incorporate the daily/weekly mile so that we can make it a real success in the future. As always Park Street the standards were amazing. Lets keep it up! Mr Smith, Miss Garratt and Mrs Petitt A huge well done to Team CC and Team JW who have been working incredibly hard in their PE lessons for the last couple of weeks. We have worked on our agility, balance and coordination skills. The children have been incredibly engaged. They particularly enjoyed working with the bean bags! We found different ways to travel around the hall, whilst balancing the bean bag on different parts of our body.
Outstanding from both Foundation classes. Mr Smith Another very successful half term. A huge thank you to all the parents/carers for being so understanding regarding PE kit. The new system seems to be working, therefore we will stick with it! Children have loved trying out their new sports for this term in PE. To see more about this, have a look at our PE blog on the school website. We have introduced ‘Girl and Boy PE Star of the week’, along with ‘PE Class of the week’. As a school, we wanted to reward children for working extremely hard. Finally, we had our first sporting trip this term. Eight Year 5 and Year 6 pupils attended a mixed athletics tournament at Barnsley Sports College and we came 3rd overall, which is a fantastic achievement! A big thank you to Miss Garratt and Miss Crookes for taking the children.
Mr Smith As a school we have noticed the improvement from all of the classes regarding bringing PE kit. This shows that the new system is working and we will continue to use it as it seems incredibly effective.
We would just like to say a huge thank you to all involved as it is really important that bringing PE kit is consistent throughout school. Brilliant Park Street, keep it up! Mr Smith and Miss Garratt Every class has worked incredibly hard in their new activities in PE this week in both their indoor and outdoor sessions. The children have showed a great attitude and we have noticed that less children are forgetting their PE kit which is fantastic.
The pupils have been learning new rules about which activity they will be focusing on. I have been extremely impressed especially when I set children tasks in groups. The children all support each other therefore everyone works together to improve and strive to do their best. Amazing Park St, it has been a pleasure to teach PE this week! Keep it up. Mr Smith Just a reminder about bringing PE kit, it is very important children are bringing PE kit for lessons. Children are required to have a white t-shirt and black shorts for indoor PE and black jogging bottoms and jacket for outdoors.
We have noticed that throughout school there are some children who are regularly forgetting their PE kits and this is having a detrimental effect on their learning as it may be that children cannot participate without the correct clothing. Any problems, please don't hesitate to contact school. Thank you for your support and understanding. Mr Smith Hello, I would just like to say how happy I am with the way all of the children and staff have welcomed me into this amazing primary school. The PE lessons have gone amazingly well so far, the attitude to want to learn and improve in my lessons has been incredible. We have been fortunate enough to be going outside as well as in. I will be updating this page as much as possible regarding all the sporting events happening in and outside school.
Lunch time club gives the children the opportunity for a year group to go across to the courts after they have had their lunch. We have explored lots of different types of sports already. Some information about me, Sport is my passion I particularly love football coaching and playing golf outside of work. |
