A HUGE well done to Amelia in Team MK who was awarded with a Headteacher's Award 20 minutes in to the first day of this academic year! What an achievement! She was so helpful, locating a lost bag and finding out who it belonged to! What a superstar! I hope this is one of many Headteacher Awards I get to hand out to our 'Always Children' this year! Welcome back everyone!

Just a reminder to the parents of Park Street that we have two INSET days at the start of this Autumn term - children are not in school on Monday 4th September 2017 and Tuesday 5th September 2017. Just the staff on these two days! We look forward to seeing all of the children and parents once again on Wednesday 6th September 2017!
Many thanks to the parents who returned their child's end of year record of achievement parental comment slip! It has been so wonderful to read all of the lovely comments written about the staff in school, thanking them for their efforts and the wonderful learning that their child has experienced this year. The staff have really loved reading them - thank you for your kindness and we are pleased you and your children are happy! The comment slips really do help us with analysing what is going well with our school and which areas we need to work on next! Many thanks for taking the time.
Well done to Mr Wall and the Team Park Street children for being awarded with the 'Schools Game Mark' - GOLD! This is a real credit to the work which Mr Wall and other staff members do to ensure children participate effectively in PE lessons and competitions! Well done to everyone involved!
A really big well done to Team Park Street for the massive £910.24 raised at Book Fair last week! What an amazing amount of money to win! I am thrilled that this has earned us over £500 in commission, which now the school has to spend on new books! Amazing effort Team Park Street once again - thank you parents and thank you also to Miss McGinness for organising this for us!
A really big thank you to Miss McGinnes, our Literacy Leader (and the rest of the staff team of course), for organising an amazing 'Book Week' for the children last week! We had such a fun week; children were swapping books, classes were pairing up to buddy read, classes wrote about their favourite books and we launched the FS and KS1 parent / child reading session (which will take place every Tuesday for parents). 'World Book Day' was a huge success too - the children (and staff) loved getting dressed up as their favourite character! Such fun and amazing learning! Well done and thank you to all of the families who have been able to join their children in reading sessions so far! The hall was full! Don't forget, there is always a chance of winning a book at reach of the sessions! Well done Team Park Street!
I wanted to say a huge thank you to Mrs Hattersley and Team AG for their assembly this week on kindness and spreading the 'kindness bug'! All classes now have a box to post kindness notes to each other and staff have one too! I think this is a lovely idea, can't wait to see who wins the Easter Eggs just before the Easter holidays - the more kind you are, the more chance there is of you winning a prize! Good luck everyone!
First of all, I want to say a HUGE well done and thank you to Miss Garratt for organising some amazing learning opportunities for Team LG this week, in their World War Week! They had a wonderful time on Monday exploring real life artefacts, then today they have been experiencing military life in our Nature Reserve, with Mr Fidment. Mrs Longden had a walk down this afternoon and said that the learning was absolutely amazing! The children were totally immersed in war like activities, like building shelters and using their amazing imaginations which allowed them to feel like they were in a war! I am totally amazed by our teachers and the capacity of our children - amazing learners Team LG! Well done Mr Fidment and Miss Garratt - a truly creative curriculum! I hope you have a fabulous time on the Wombwell Memorial Walk tomorrow afternoon! Make Park Street proud!
It was amazing to see Team AG with Mrs Hattersley roaming around school today, in search of things which were magnetic! The children were loving their learning and were literally buzzing with excitement! - As were all of the staff! I was so proud of the way that the children conducted themselves around school and the learning was brilliant! Mrs Longden was mightily impressed too - she was walking around school looking at our fab creative curriculum! Keep it up Team AG!
It was amazing to hear and see the performance poetry from Team LG in Golden Book assembly today! The whole school listened really well to your well thought out and emotive poems about War. A huge well done an thank you for performing!
