We wanted to let you know about a Kickstarter campaign that has been launched. The campaign is the #SeeSportyBeSporty Girls and Sport Poster Campaign and we want to help spread the word to schools and parents who might like to support it too. The link to the campaign is: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/totallyrunable/seesportybesporty-role-models-posters-of-girls To help, and hopefully spread the message we’ve attached an at-home task and competition. It would be great if we had some entries from our school. If you want to take part in the competition, email or tweet us a picture of your poster and we will send it to Totally Runable for you. ![]()

Check it out for some fantastic PE activities, as well as activities for other subject areas. https://twitter.com/WombwellParkSt Last week Team CB participated in a fantastic tag rugby session. We discussed as a class the basic rules of the game. The pupils identified that when playing the game, you can only pass it sideways or backwards. Everyone had a smile on their face while participating in the lesson! The lesson was so impressive, that the class deserved PE class of the week award. Team CB were presented with the award on Friday in assembly. the announcement was greeted with a huge cheer by the children! Well done Team CB thoroughly deserved.Congratulations to our UKS2 Girls Football team who came 3rd in their competition on Wednesday. What an achievement! As much as they were thrilled with their position, the best part of the afternoon was meeting Barnsley Football Club's manager, Gerhard Struber.A huge well done to Park Street's KS2 Cheerleading team for taking part in their first competition. After only a few rehearsals, you pulled off a cracking routine and did yourselves and school proud!
A huge thank you to Barnsley Sports College for hosting our first mass participation event. All the children from Team LG and Team LL took part in a full day of sporting activities including: Wheelchair Weave, Tchoukball, Dodgeball, Obstacle Course, Boccia and Kurling. It was great to see the children fully engaged in all the activities, particularly those they have never experienced before. Another very successful half term. A huge thank you to all the parents/carers for being so understanding regarding PE kit. The new system seems to be working, therefore we will stick with it as long as it does. Children have loved trying out their new sports for this term in PE. To see more about this, have a look at our PE blog on the school website. We have introduced ‘Girl and Boy PE Star of the week’, along with ‘PE Class of the week’. As a school, we wanted to reward children for working extremely hard. Finally, we had our first sporting trip this term. Eight Year 5 and Year 6 pupils attended a mixed athletics tournament at Barnsley Sports College and we came 3rd overall, which is a fantastic achievement! A big thank you to Miss Garratt and Miss Crookes for taking the children.
Mr Smith Today, we took part in our first competition of 2020. Eight children (from Team LG and Team LL) participated in a mixed athletics tournament held at Barnsley Sports College.
