Team AC used shapes today to create symmetrical patterns in a 'mirror line'. Today, Team AC were introduced to the greater than and less than symbols. They measured the length of their shoes and then used the greater than/less than symbol to compare it to their friends' shoes. A huge thank you from Mr Fidment and Miss Garratt to everyone for their effort in raising money towards NSPCC Number Day.
Throughout the morning, the children engaged in maths/numbers based activities in class, applying their skills and knowledge to a variety of concepts and problems. Most classes also had a go at ‘Who wants to be a Mathionaire?’. Despite the cold weather at playtime, the children bought ice-lollies and buns which were on sale. Thank you to all the parents/carers who donated buns and cakes. Without your generosity, this sale would not have been possible. During the afternoon, the whole school watched our ‘Teacher vs Pupil Tables Race’ competition. The pressure was on for our Y6 pupils who put our KS2 teachers to the test in a race against time. It’s safe to say there’re pretty good at their times tables as they beat the staff with their fast pace and accuracy. Thank you to our Y6s who volunteered to take part in this challenge – you did yourselves proud! Check out the pictures below to see what fun activities we got up to in celebration of the NSPCC's Number Day. |
