Below, you will find a link to a resource that is currently being offered free to help children learn maths, in particular times tables understanding (not just fact recall) and has been designed and created by Pete Sides. We know many of you use TT Rockstars but this works very differently in that it builds understanding and thoughts rather than just memorisation. Check it out!

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/ The best solution out there at the moment is White Rose Maths and their home learning section. The videos posted on their website are very useful in explaining the mathematical concepts. It talks the children through what they need to do and then tells them when to pause to have a go at the accompanying activity. It also comes with complete answers for children to self-check or for parents who want to make sure their children are on the right line. This should take a lot of the pressure away from parents as we know that this is also a difficult time for them. If the children can’t print and they are viewing it on their ipad or tablet, they could possibly annotate the sheets on their device and take a screen shot to save. This would be a free way of doing it and who doesn't love a freebie? We are forever sharing learning resources on our Twitter page @WombwellParkSt
Check it out for some fantastic Maths activities, as well as activities for other subject areas. https://twitter.com/WombwellParkSt See below some fab activities from Plan Bee.

Here are some of the activities that we did in school to celebrate 'NSPCC's Number Day'. Why not check them out at home too?
The resource in a nutshell Fluent in Five provides a daily set of arithmetic practice, designed to help children develop and maintain fluency in both written and mental calculations. The structure of Fluent in Five is also designed to help children distinguish between written and mental calculations. What is included? • For Years 3 and 4, a weekly powerpoint featuring 4 to 5 daily questions and answers. • For Years 5 and 6, a weekly pack of 5 to 6 daily questions and answers set out in the style of the Year 6 SATs arithmetic test. • A progression document for each year group to give an overview of the national curriculum objectives that will be covered on each day. ![]()
