Happy Red Nose Day Park Street! What a wonderful day we have had! Well done to everyone for being so enthusiastic! We have 'worn it red', done a bun sale (yum yum), sold red noses and had a Strictly Come Dancing 'dance off' from our staff team! Great fun for all and no doubt a lot of money has been raised! Can't wait to hear the final amount! Well done TEAM Park Street for being so proactive in raising money for a worthy cause. Thank you to our School Council for organising the day for us.

It has been really wonderful to see so many of our parents at school today reading with their child, as part of Book Week in school. Thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend - the children were so excited to see you and enjoy their favourite books with you! Hopefully we will be setting up a monthly read...watch this space! Thank you to Miss McGinnes for organising the event!
Somehow it is that time of year again when our Year 5 children take part in Bikeability! I have been so pleased and proud to hand out a number of stickers today to the TEAM members who have excelled, not only with their biking skills, but also with their hard working attitudes and listening skills! Go Team LG!
It was delightful to hear about Erin and Emily's news in assembly this morning...they have done a sponsored walk around Manvers Lake and raised £89 to go to the 'World Wide Fund for Nature', to look after endangered animals! This is really amazing girls - a massive well done from the TEAM! What kind, considerate and caring girls!
Now the snow seems to be disappearing, the plan is for school to be open as normal tomorrow on 5.3.18. Back to learning - YAY!
Year 5 - 'Bikeability' is planned in for this week for Team LG. If your child has returned their slip and intends on taking part, please ensure they bring their bike, helmet and warm clothes every morning this week. Tomorrow morning, if the course leader decides to cancel any sessions due to the weather, we will let you know ASAP and rearrange. School has made the decision to close on 2.3.18 due to continuing adverse weather conditions and the risk to health and safety to and from school and on school site. PLEASE keep your fingers crossed that the snow stops VERY soon! The planned litter pick for Eco-Reps and School Council (with Wombwell Ward Alliance members) will be rearranged for another day.
Due to: on-going adverse weather conditions overnight; health and safety concerns and a poor forecast for this morning, school has been CLOSED today. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, but the safety of our children, parents and staff team is of paramount importance. World Book Day will of course be rearranged (with all of the same plans) for a less snowy day - save your costumes TEAM Park Street!
Our Leadership Team are monitoring the weather and the forecast updates. We will inform you by 6.30am on Thursday morning (1.3.18) as to whether the school will be open. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Wednesday 28th February 2018: Due to deteriorating weather conditions the school will be closed for the remainder of the day! We were hoping to open at 10 o clock however due to the recent rapid deterioration in weather we have been forced to close. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Georgia in Team MK has been successful in making it to the final for the 'South Yorkshire Police' Christmas card competition final, which Year 6 took part in with Mrs Fitchett, our Art specialist! The card was beautiful - well done Georgia for making it to the final 5! We are really proud!
