Next week is Anti-Bullying Week 2021. The theme for the week is One kind word. and the week will be started off with Odd Sock Day on Monday 15th November, which is a celebration of difference, diversity and being yourself. So please remember to wear your odd socks on Monday 15th so you can share your good taste and show your support for the cause.
During the week each class in school will be taking part in activities to learn about different forms of bullying and the consequences of this. We hope that through the weeks activity it will help to remind everyone in the school community about the importance of words and how they make people feel. The theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week is Express Yourself. Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. It is about finding a way to show who you are, and how you see the world, that can help you feel good about yourself. At school we would like all our children to express themselves and talk about their uniqueness by creating a time to shine poster, which can be shared in school and via our virtual learning platform Seesaw. Also listen out for the charity single by Billy Ocean and the Young voices. To coincide with Children’s Mental Health Week 2021, pop icon Billy Ocean has teamed up with the Young Voices Choir to release a new and uplifting recording of the Bill Withers’ classic. The single is available to download now via iTunes or Amazon. All the UK profits from the song will go to Place2Be’s work supporting children and young people’s mental health during these challenging times. ‘Lovely Day’. Parents- If you want more information or resources to support learning about this week at home then please visit: www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/parents-and-carers/
I received a message from Scope today and a certificate to thank our school community for hosting a Mindfulness week and for the generosity of our school community in raising £245 for the charity during the week.
