Just a quick message to say how proud we are of all our Park Street pupils. The students have all made a tremendous start to the academic year and have given their absolute all during writing. Love of writing has been clear to see throughout school, with children writing for many purposes and audiences. Classes have ensured that the work they have produced has been shared and heard by others, and have loved engaging with the new texts that are driving their writing. We have certainly seen some clear improvements in vocabulary choices, sentence structures and handwriting! We know that the children of Park Street will continue to give their absolute all next term as new writing challenges await them.

This week our children have been working exceptionally hard in their Christmas Performances for parents. It most definitely deserves recognition on our writing blog as so much writing has taken place to support this. Children have written their own poems, scripts and stories to share in the performances, and what an incredible job they have done! Well done Team Park Street - you never fail to amaze us!
During the Spring Term, classes from Year 2-6 will invite parents back in to the classroom! As part of engaging our young writers, and offering support to parents around the teaching of writing in school, we will be holding parental and pupil workshops with a focus on creative writing. There will be a theme running across all year groups which will be led by class teachers. Parents are then encouraged to support their child with their creative writing piece following input from the session. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a letter coming out next week with more information on how you can attend these sessions.
