On Welly Walk this week, we discussed the different signs of Spring. The children then went on a Spring hunt around the Nature Reserve to see what they could find!

This week our learning has been all about the 'Arctic'. We have had lots of fun learning about the different Arctic animals. The children have been very creative making their own igloos using our junk modelling resources and have painted arctic landscapes using watercolour paints!
In the water tray, we have had ice and the children have worked together to find out how best to melt the ice. Children used pipettes to squeeze warmer water onto the ice and learnt that this helped to melt the ice. We thoroughly enjoyed having ice in the water tray! The children had lots of fun today whilst fundraising for Red Nose Day (Comic Relief). The children enjoyed sitting together and eating their buns before taking part in the penalty shoot out with Mr Smith and Mr Davison on the school field. Today we had lots of fun in PE. We worked hard on our throwing and catching skills.
The children started by playing a game called 'Down the Line', the children were in teams and had to throw a beanbag to each other and get them into the hoop at the end of the line. The first team to get all their beanbags in the hoop won! The children worked really well together and were patience with peers when they dropped the beanbag meaning we had to start again. We then practised our 2-handed catches with a beanbag whilst stood still, before moving carefully moving around whilst throwing and catching using the 2-handed catch. To make it even trickier, the children then had to throw the beanbag up and clap once before catching it again! Team EO had a fantastic World Book Day! We loved sharing our amazing costumes of our favourite characters with our friends and we enjoyed listening to stories read by Mrs Clarke, Miss Clementson and Miss McGinnes.
Some children took part in a 'book scavenger hunt', some of Team EO enjoyed completing a word search (and were fantastic at it) and others designed bookmarks! |
