We have loved being up an active in our counting! Practicing ordinal counting each day has really helped us in becoming familiar with the flow, sound and sequence of numbers. This week team CH have counted using a number of resources. We have focussed on identified the multiples of ten and how every number one less than a multiple of ten had nine ones. We also spent time counting by identify the ones and tens in a number, for example, counting from forty-two we started four tens and two ones, four tens and three ones, four tens and four ones and so on. Counting this way enabled us to write numbers more accurately and helped embed the knowledge that numbers are made up of tens and ones. Additionally, we continued to count for a ordinal purpose within the setting as children we challenged to count chairs, tables, smiles, shoes, steps, pencils and jumpers.
