Hello! I hope you are all keeping safe and well and have had a lovely weekend!
Miss McGinnes' favourite story is 'Tiddler' by Julia Donaldson. Here is a link if you would like to share it with your child at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcTQADUywZY Have fun sharing the story together and then see if you can remember and tell the story with your family. If you are feeling creative, you could draw, paint or make some of your own fish to help you. Number rhymes and songs are great for supporting our Mathematical learning in nursery. Have fun singing 5 Currant Buns with your child:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mi79hRcSXI You could pause the song as each bun is bought and see if your child can work out how many buns will be left each time. Can they show the amounts on their fingers? Use words such as 'take away' and 'less' to support their understanding of the Mathematical vocabulary. Nursery rhymes are great for learning about rhythm and rhyme which are such important pre-reading skills. Joining in with them is also lots of fun for young children! Click the link below and join in with some of the rhymes we sing in nursery:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/curations/nursery-rhymes Have fun and feel free to comment and let me know how you are getting on! In the Shooting Stars we love stories and always share lots every day in nursery! I hope you are enjoying stories at home with your families too!
Here is a link to 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' being read by the author Michael Rosen, if you would like to share it with your child. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gyI6ykDwds See if your child can join in with the repeated phrases and actions as the story progresses! Good Morning Shooting Stars!
I hope you are all okay at home with your families. Here is a link to a number song if you would like to have fun singing together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZw9veQ76fo Sing the song and see if you can show the amounts of ducks on your fingers- count carefully! Can you find one less? How many are left now? In preparation for the school closure, please find below information relating to home learning programmes. You will find some details regarding the core subjects (Reading, Writing, Maths) and how these can be accessed each day. In addition to this, you will find some information regarding other curriculum areas as well as a suggested timetable to structure your child's daily learning. These activities have been carefully resourced to ensure that learning can continue as much as possible whilst the school remains closed. Please note that these materials are exactly the same materials as those that will be sent home with the children tomorrow.
