Following all the hard work children have put in to writing their hold a sentence Team CH took the time to present their work to the audience they had written it for. The children worked hard on developing their oracy skills, including reading with clear expression and intonation. We worked hard to practise our performance so that it was delivered as confidently as possible.

This week we have rounded up our learning by challenging our children to complete number sequences stretching to 120. We are ready for out next steps in learning and will be introducing Unit 2 next week of comparing quantities and measures. Additionally, we will be introducing whole and parts.
This week Team CH have enjoyed a hands on experinece. We talked about ways we might show we believe or enjoy something or someone. We discovered that many Jews feel that by wearing a kippah they are proudly announcing to the world that they are Jewish. This is classed as an 'outward sign' of their faith. We asked the children if they would like to wear a kippah as part of our learning.
This week Team CH started to build basic mouse skills. Children enjoyed the opportunity to apply mouse skills to a creative task. Our learning involved the free online all paintz.app.
This week Team CH have revisited previous learning in order to build on what we already know. We began our learning by talking with our partner about the four countries that are part of the United Kingdom the three countries that are part of Great Britain. Next, using Oddizzi we took an aerial tour of Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland. We discovered that every country has a capital city. We divide ourselves into the countries England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. After this we spent some time becoming familiar with our respective capital city and finally, we shared our country and capital city. In order to continue this learning, each table has been issued with their very own fact sheet about their country.
Today Team CH have spent time consolidating the words in Spanish for ‘hello’ and ‘my name is …’ in Spanish before learning how to ask somebody how they are feeling in Spanish. We really enjoyed introducing ourselves to our friends and asking them how they are feeling.
This week in Team CH we have continued to identify and name a variety of everyday materials. We then discussed different properties of a material and how a material is chosen for an object based on its properties. We discussed how it would be no good for wellies to be made from paper as it was not waterproof and all our feet would get wet and how it would be no could for reading glasses to be made from wood as we would not be able to see through them! We then learnt the names of key properties and what these key properties meant using MTYT. Our activity was to sort the bag of objects into the sorting circles based on the properties in each sorting circle.
edit. This week team CH have been talking about the pants rule and how this rule can help keep themselves and others safe.
We started our learning with the introduction of Pantosaurus. A character that helped us learn the PANTS rules. We talked about each step in the PANTS rule.
After going through these steps and allowing children the time to talk about each step we listened to the Pantosaurus song to further embed the message of “What’s in your pants belong only to you”. Finally, the children designed their own pants. Team CH are working incredibly hard within Literacy. We have explored the suffix ‘s’ and spent time practising making a singular word plural. Additionally, we are now holding a sentence that includes a capital letter, finger spaces, the suffix ‘s’ and a full stop. We are so proud of our writing!
