Maths
In Maths this week, the children have been developing further their understanding of multiplication and division. We have looked further into the vocabulary used in multiplication and division equations and the children are now using this language when speaking about their learning. In addition, we have been learning how our knowledge of addition and subtraction and the partitioning of numbers, can also help is when calculating multiplication and division problems. The children have been using manipulatives to help them including arrays. Literacy During our Literacy learning, the children have been looking at the features of a non-chronological report. The purpose for their learning is to write their own non-chronological report for a figure from our class text, 'Herstory'. Everyone in lcass has chosen their own female influential figure to write their own fact-file about them. The children have thoroughly enjoyed our class text, and have enjoyed learning about the many different historical, influential figures. The children have been developing their skills in writing in third person, as well as unpicking the features of an example of a non-chronological report.
