Today the children were invited to wear odd socks to make the start of Anti-bullying week in school. At carpet time, we looked at everyone's socks and identified if they were odd or not as well as noticing all the different patterns and colours. We spoke about other differences such as hair colour and eye colour and the children learnt the word "difference" in this context. We spoke about how everyone is different and special and that is okay!
At story time, we read the story of Simon Sock and spoke about the different patterns and socks and were pleased that Simon found a friend in the end- they didn't look the same but they liked the same things and so they loved playing together.
