Maths Over the past couple of weeks the children have worked hard to master the skill of subtraction. We started by discussing the symbol and what is happening to our numbers when we subtract. From this, we used a range of resources such as number lines, counters and base 10 to subtract. As our learning progressed, we moved into using the formal column method to subtract 2 two digit numbers crossing ten. Literacy Over the past couple of weeks Team JF have been exploring the book 'The Tin Forest'. We have read the book numerous times and discussed in detail the language, images and structure of this. We decided as the book was full of vibrant colours, we would write our own setting description of the jungle. We completed these this week and produced some amazing pieces! As we worked so hard, we presented them in class to each other with a cup of hot chocolate and a bourbon on the side! RE This week the children of Team JF have been getting in the Christmas spirit! We have been learning all about the Christmas story and the reason Christians celebrate . The children were excellent at retelling this and created their own story boards to sequence and identify the key points. We have had an amazing Autumn term! HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
