Team AC watched a video about Rosa Parks and learnt a lot about why she was so important. The children were quite shocked about what had happened to Rosa and had a lot of opinions on how they felt she was treat. Our fabulous children set to work and put on a re-enactment in class of her story. These children have huge acting talent!! At the end they asked our 'Rosa' some fantastic hot seat questions. Team AC did amazingly well taking in all of the information and being able to put themselves in her position, to say how they would have felt if they were her, why they thought she was so brave and why they felt how things were all these years ago were unfair. ![]() This week has been Children's mental health week. Team AC take mental health very seriously, we want the best for our children. So of course we focused on this in a lesson. The focus we had was 'making connections' so we talked as a group about all of the connections that we have with our family, friends, places, activities, things and beliefs. As always fantastic ideas were made by all of team AC. We then got to work on each making a paperchain link with all of the things on it we feel we have strong connections with and like/love the most. The paperchains will not only be linked together with all of team AC but also all the paperchains from school will be put together and displayed. We are all here to support each other at Park Street. Later we went outside to work as a team to move a hula hoop around the circle of children all holding hands. This took working together and thinking about how we make connections with others to complete the task. We all felt good and enjoyed focusing on our mental health. GC - I like to do Spanish because I get to learn new things.

They can also have a look at some ideas of what they would like to paint on their rock. Children are invited to bring in some clothes in a labelled bag for the afternoon, to dress up as a rock star, this is optional please don't feel you have to buy anything for this. Children will already be in feel good Friday clothes so this is fine also. Literacy - diary entry writing, writing in the past tense.
