![]() A big focus for Team AC this week has been mindfulness, what emotions people feel. We looked at clips of inside out the film to help us understand, joy, sadness, anger, disgust and fear. Each child gave examples of what makes them feel sad, happy etc... We looked at what may help people feel calm when emotions are getting too much from us, the children came up with fabulous ideas; sleeping, listening to water/rain, getting comfy clothes on, walks, hot milk.... the list goes on. We have had some mindfulness time this week with mindful colouring, music, taking a minute with our eyes shut to calm and children will have the opportunity to try some herbal tea, they were very interested in trying some when the adults talked about what they do/have to feel calm. This week we have made two displays for our class, one with all the children's visions (a type of New Years resolution) for 2023 we hope you like this on our window for you to see. Another is a find your calm display to help remind the children to try to have a calm approach in their lives. This is a work in progress we will post a picture soon. Music is something Team AC really enjoy, playing instruments, singing and even dancing to music is something we love to do. This week the children have been back to learning how to play the xylophone. We brushed up on our skills from before the holidays and then we started to look at the tempo of blues music which is much slower. Here is a little video of our music lesson, one partner plays while the other is singing and taking note of the beat. Well done everyone. We have 4 new spelling superstars in team AC for the last half term. Our superstars haven't necessarily got 10 out of 10 each week but they have greatly improved with their spellings, they have handed in their homework each week and they have tried their best. We are so proud of you. Keep up all the hard work on your spellings! Spellings homework will be sent out again this week and are usually tested on a Tuesday.

AC Teachers and TAs we would like to wish you all a magical Christmas and we can't wait to see all of our lovely children back in the New Year, but not before they've had a well deserved break, they have all worked so hard this term!! Here is a Spanish Happy Christmas from all of Team AC Feliz Navidad. Literacy - creative writing using descriptive words.
Numeracy - column addition, working on solving problems with a carry over into tens and hundreds. Spanish - using Spanish to request dinners and learning happy Christmas. Art - making lots of things, snowflakes, wreaths, calendars and lots of Christmas colouring and drawing. P.E - warm up exercises, bench ball working in teams using communication and teamwork. Lots of Christmas fun, and of course toy day today!! Children in Team AC decorated their own Christmas tree with home made baubles of themselves. What a great thing to do and a keepsake after to treasure. The children did some fantastic work making salt dough Diva Lamps, we thought you may like to see all the hard work that went into them from designing to moulding, painting and then taking home to display. Well done Team AC.
![]() Next week we will be performing our Christmas show, as there are four classes coming together to perform there will be four occasions the children will be on stage. We would like the children to wear a Christmas jumper or top if possible. If this could be brought into school on Monday (5th December) the children can keep it here and wear it for each performance. Team AC parents are invited to watch on Friday the 9th of December at 2 o'clock. We look forward to seeing you there. |
