We have been learning about number tracks in maths and have been using them to play some games!
We know that numbers on a number track have to start with the smallest and you add one number to reach the largest number. We played several games this week to help us learn about this and used toys to help us. One of the games involved a dice with dots, although it only had one or two dots on each side. We subitised (rather than counted the dots) to see how many we needed to count on our number track until the toy reached the end. After each roll of the die we counted on the correct number and remembered to say the numeral we landed on, rather than counting the "jumps." Sometimes Miss Clementson forgot how to do this and missed out some numbers so we had to explain why she couldn't do that. We even wanted to play the game again later independently during provision time!
